Check light when first started and cold

When I first start my diesel I get an engine check light when first started. It goes away after a minute or so in July in Texas. The light does not come again until the next day. Same thing over again. The auto parts store say they can not tell what the light is unless it is on. The problem being is the light goes out before I can get to the parts store. Any ideas?

If the light shows, then a code should be stored, even if the light goes out you can still retrieve it.

The OBS Power Stroke uses a special type of programming for the OBD II port. Most DIY code readers can't communicate with the PCM. Same goes for the parts stores that do free code reads.

You can use AE (Auto Ingenuity) software with the FORD enhanced package or you can buy a ELM Bluetooth device and use an Android phone with Car Gauge Pro.

There is also Wi-Fi devices that will work with apps on IPhones.

If you post your location then maybe someone near you will be able to come out and help you get the codes.

I live in Elgin Tx just east of Austin Texas. I drive into Austin Tx every few days.

What would all this software and hardware plugs cost to run with an iPhone?

I am in Elgin Texas just outside Austin Texas out east on hwy 290.

What would software and plugs cost for an iPhone to be able to read codes?
I have a laptop with blue tooth if it would be easier.

VGate Bluetooth Wireless OBD2 OBD-II Car Diagnostic Scan Tool For PC Mobile was 8 dollars on ebay and then you buy the app Torque pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...g.prowl.torque for android at 4.99 or use forscan Download FORScan on PC if it has BT for free

above works well on my 95 F350 7.3 and under 15 bucks but knowing what the truck your PCM sees is Price Less
