Have you checked all the cables, both positive and ground? Had problems with mine doing the same thing a couple months ago. The cables looked good at the battery and it tried to crank at first, so i figured it as a weak battery, so i just bought a new one. Didnt help, so i pulled the starter and took it to Oreillys where it tested good. Got to checking, and apparently the previous owner changed out the ground cable and instead if using the proper ring terminals, they used a cheap clamp on side post terminal on the end that mounted to the block. Put a good terminal on it and havent had a problem since. So my advice would be to check all the grounding points. Hope this helps.
