Dang it is hot out there.

Everything looks to be dry under the truck/ No wet spots or fluid on any inside wheels and tires. The fluid level is just below the MAX level marked on the reservoir. It does have a very dark color to the fluid as if the flex lines have gone bad but not leaking.

The brake petal goes to the floor without the engine running. With the engine running that is when you hear a loud whooshing sound down at the brake petal, still goes to the floor

might just be master cylinder then if no leaks

dark fluid don't mean flex lines are bad, it can be just moisture and rust

turn sharp left and right to check hoses for cracked rubber covering and bulge when apply brakes

OK.............here is the issue

I have been online all day trying to find the part number for the 1997 brake booster, I have even talked to the guy from Lakeland Ford parts who is a sponsor on this site.
Every thing I have found and heard is the P/N are the same for the 1995 F 250 and the 1997 f250
F5TZ2005CA

The master cylinders have different P/N's as per the guy from Lakeland Ford parts.

NAPA has the whole set up M/C and booster for apx. $ 140
Ford parts wants $140+ just for the M/C

Where do you find the right booster and M/C for my truck

And who do you buy it from.........I am so confused right now, about to throw-up

The master cylinder on a 97 with the specs Joey and I talked about yesterday was originally F6TZ2140FB and superseded to F6TZ2140FC, they are obsolete and I do not show inventory anywhere in the USA. The 95 model year called for a F4TZ2140H which superseded to F4TZ2140ED so there is a difference there, unfortunately the catalog does not state the difference. Part number F4TZ2140ED can be ordered, there are 3 left for me.

Lets wait for some others to chime in regarding the master cylinder.
