Looking for a deal, but who isn't!
Hey everybody, I'm not a , and hope, to hear from our insurance company tomorrow about totaling out my 2011 F150 Crew Cab.
The body shop has already called my baby a total loss, but waiting to hear from our insurance company, but it sounds like they're gonna call it totaled too.
Looking at my trucks replacement, I'm finding 2015's for the same money (give or take a bit) as 2013-2014's. So I'm really considering going to the newer body style F150 over the 2011 that I have/had.
So what do you all like, and dislike, about your 2015 F150 Crew Cab trucks, and do you know of any good deals in my area
I'm just outside of Raleigh North Carolina, and would go to about any dealership in the state, yes, I'm that serious.

To quote a certain presidential candidate, the back seat of the 2015+ SuperCrew is HUUuuuUUge. We like that part a lot. It's like having the box of a small pickup, only "enclosed".
We also like the 36 gallon gas tank, but I believe that was available before.
In general, the sound dampening is better on the newer truck. That may be actual insulation, or some by-product of the aluminum chassis. IDK, but the truck is very, very quiet.
I like the automatic headlights. I generally leave the headlight switch in the "auto" position, and never mess with it.
The backup camera is nice. It gives you a racetrack that curves with the position of the steering wheel.
There are probably several other things, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

That HUGE backseat would be sweet We still have a 21 year old at home, but my biggest back seat driver is my boy Rocky. (Picture following shortly)
So basically yes, this is Rocky's truck too...
For the money, I'm finding 2013 and 2014's for the same money, and more money than some of the 2015's that I'm finding on line. So why not go with the newer truck
I've even thought about getting out of a truck payment all together, but for the money I'll have to play with, anything I could pay cash for, will have 200K on the clock, and I just can't trust a truck I know nothing about if I had to make another mad dash back home to Missouri.
The pictures are of my "Back Seat Drive" and best buddy.....Rocky

I went from a 2012 F150 5.0 V8 4x4 Supercrew to 2016 F150 5.0 V8 4x4 Supercrew.
Quieter, yes, a tad though. The back seat is about the same in size. So is the front seat. Yes, the 2012 had the 36-gallon tank option. A must for me in the 2016 model too.
Definitely handles better, no more jiggles after going over a rough patch.
I have the back-up camera in the 2016, didn't have that in 2012, and it's a worthy feature to have! Now I can park really close to cars behind me without hitting them!
And you sure got a beautiful dog!

I had a '13 equipped very similar to my '15 and have enjoyed them both. The biggest difference in my opinion is how the truck handles. The center of gravity is lower in the '15+ trucks, and you really feel it when driving around. The ride is also a little more compliant, which I think is a result of softer springs due to the lighter weight. I haven't scaled this one yet, but door sticker math suggests that my new truck is about 690 lbs lighter than my old one.
I think the '15+ trucks are a solid upgrade over the previous generation. Take a good look at brand-new trucks, often they can be a better deal than used in today's market. I paid $33,500 for my '15 brand-new last October, and my coworker paid $35,500 for a '13 Lariat just a few months ago. Similar configuration and identical powertrains, I think he was nuts for going that route.

Bought a truck
Well we did buy a truck this last Saturday morning.
We found exactly what I decided that I wanted to get. Down to the color inside and out, the same engine that I had, and gained a 4x4 over the RWD 2011 that it replaced.
So here's my 2013, Super Crew, Coyote 5.0, 4x4 in Kodiak Brown Metallic, with Pale Adobe interior.
There are a few things I want to do to it like lose those black running boards, for a chrome set. A nice thin gold pin stripe to go with the interior color, and the 4X4 decal on the bed, and my Flowmaster exhaust that I'm taking off of the totaled out 2011 today.

Gosh, I had my screen on a little dark and I thought it was black, looked exactly like my 2012 F150 Supercrew! Wheels, driving boards, everything's exactly the same. Heck, even the center console!
I loved that truck. The V8 got great gas mileage. I could not be any happier with it. I got it for $29,500 back in 2012 (down from $40,000).

It has the 5.0, just like my 2011, and I look for 3 weeks to find a Kodiak Brown Crew Cab, then drove 3 hours to get it.
I do not like the black running boards, they are coming off and putting a chrome set on there. Then a gold pin stripe to match the interior, and 4x4 decal. I have an appointment for this Friday morning to get my Flowmaster exhaust put on it.
I'm getting there.

I'll end up with the chrome boards, soon. I have an appointment for this Friday morning to get my Flowmaster exhaust, then a thin gold pinstripe that match's that 4x4 decal, then the smoked vent shades for all four doors, and I'll be set.
So did you get rid of your F150

I replaced my F150 with another F150. Same set-up.. 4x4 V8 SuperCrew with center console. It was hard for me to find a new one with the center console without going for the Sport model that had gear selector on the floor, I wanted it next to the steering wheel.
I spent a thousand more for the 6.5' bed on my new F150 instead of the 5.5' because the trade-in value for the 2012 with 6.5' bed cost $2,000 more than the 2012 with 5.5' bed. Apparently, it holds value much better.
Once I went F150, I couldn't go back. Had a Benz before that.

That's an interesting point. I knew that we got the 6.5' box simply because the 5.5' was just not quite enough to be useful. Apparently we're not the only ones that think that way.
