Welcome! In '51, the standard base model would have been a 6-cyl flathead, with the V8 an option. Column-shift 3-sp was standard, with a heavy duty 3-sp mounted on the floor as an option, which you apparently have.

If you post your serial number we can tell you more about it.

Thanks for signing up, welcome to FTE, and thanks for the pics! You've got some work ahead of you, but it will be very gratifying, this is a great place.

We do make fun of Jim, though.

Welcome to FTE
You have the deluxe "5 star extra cab" option

Which has drivers side door lock. Dome light. Dual trumpet horns. Windshield stainless trim
. the. Extra upper and lower hood stainless steel trim.
Locking glove box door. Arm rest on doors with accent trim panel.
Etc. Im forgetting something else im sure.

I hope your floors are ok. All that stuff in there tends to trap moisture and cause quick rust through.

Looks like your missing most of the hood trim though.

I would say, based on that Falcon, that you have the skills needed to restore that truck.

Start a rebuild thread to track your progress and keep us updated.

Welcome !!! That truck looks like you will have your work cut out for you . . . but we have seen worse.

After a little clean up it won't look so bad.

Clean it up and check it oveer

Add a little paint

Dress it uo and run it

Finally, make sure that you post pictures of your progress.
