quick questions about 4.6 motors and compatibility
I know this kind of question gets asked all the time everywhere on the Internet but hoping someone with some knowledge can help me. I have an 03 Expedition with a 4.6 that I'm pulling the motor. Found an 04 from an F150 (91,000 miles for $400) and I think it will be almost a direct swap. Can anyone confirm this? I have a great running 4.6 out of a 97 Town Car but it seems like it might be a lot of work and money to get a non PI motor to work. Not sure it's possible to use my truck intake on NPI heads and sounds like would end up forming over some money for a tune even if I could swap it over.
Any comments are appreciated. He just posted it on Craigslist today, I called him back and told him I can be there at 4 today. He said he will hold it but someone called after me so he can't wait after that... just hoping someone can tell me if it sounds like a motor that would make for a simple swap.
cross posted in the Expedition section only in hopes of a quicker response, remove if necessary.
Thanks!

Iron and Aluminum
So, I think my truck motor is an aluminum Romeo, the seller of the motor I have been interested is claiming it's a cast iron block. Am I right assuming this won't be a direct swap? Any ideas what would be involved? I'm not very experienced with car/truck motors. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, I just don't have much spare time and afraid this could turn into a train wreck for me. Maybe I should consider just going through my current motor.
