Vintage 1977 F150XLT advice

My family in PA has my Father's truck who bought it new and might be looking to sell but would like some advice on what it is worth.

Very clean, one owner 2WD, long bed truck includes 351C cu. in. engine, dual fuel tanks, factory A/C and cruise control;factory tow pkg.(less receiver), factory fiberglass cap with matching Paint stripe, chrome pkg. 110,442 miles, engine rebuilt around 75K. runs good, original manual included. It needs some minor work to make great show truck.
Red/white paint, must see to appreciate. See attached picture. feel free to ask questions.
Thank you for your time

I would get it appraised.. I think geographical location has a lot to do with actual value. for example I had a 69 Dodge Charger R/T 440 for sale: one fellow was looking at it and another fellow walked up and told me I was way over priced and I would never sell it for that price, the other guy said good that you pointed that out because I am buying it and giving him cash for it when you leave..The car lasted 15 minutes with a for sale sign in it. Goes to show you opinions go to the guy with the cash in his hand. Sorry I wouldn't give you a price but you can see why I wouldn't even step into that question..a ball park range is even sketchy in my opinion.

It is not a Cleveland engine unless some one installed it.it is either a 351 modified or a 400.The 351c never came in a truck and was made from 1970 to 1974.

Lil Lu, Thank you for your reply. We are trying to find a local appraiser but are not having much luck. The truck is located within an hour drive of Carlisle, PA and may take it to the truck nationals next month.

bmuhlbach - I am almost certain the engine is a Cleveland and is factory installed. Based on what my father has known and what information I can find online to identify it. It has the radiator hose going into the top of engine at 90 degrees. The valve cover has 8 bolts instead of 6 bolts. I am also trying to see if I can decode the VIN number to be positive. Thanks for your input.

NO problem, I am sure someone can help locally and if you are North in the rust belt.. here good solid trucks go for more than they will in other areas of the country where bodies have little or no rust that is common place. . I would run it through Kruze International (RM) auction and see what it will bring. As a tip : I noticed in Mopar SRT forums.. oddly enough people would undercut your vehicle in price when asked. But would never sell theirs for anything less, I seen that happen a lot. I am sure there are genuine honest folks out here that can give you a reasonable answer, I wouldn't carve it in stone however.

The radiator inlet description sounds like a 460 to me. Nice truck

Are you sure it's not a 460? Check the door tag, and post the engine code. My '77 F150 with a 460 has an engine code of 'J'.

Correct, a factory installed 460 will have "J" as the fourth character of the VIN. It can't be a factory installed 351 Cleveland, these were never installed in the F series trucks by the factory.
If it's a 351M the VIN code will be "H", a 400 (351M and a 400 look identical) would have an "S" VIN.

It is an H code, so I guess it is a 351M. Thanks for everyone's input.

It is looking to be a 351M. You are correct thank you for setting us straight on the engine.
