issue with the transmission code
I have a 1978 ford f100 ranger lariat with a 400m motor c6 transmission tag reading; (see picture) does anyone know if this is the original transmission and tag for this truck. I have done research and cant seem to find the answer, any help will be appreciated.

The "D8" signifies "78" model year so should be. I'll look up the code and post what I find.
BTW, welcome to FTE.
EDIT:
Your tag codes:
Transmission ID PJA-AH4 '78 F100-350 w/ 400 CID engine, 8 tooth speedo gear, use A70.4 parts list
Build date E5 (E) May (5) 5th
Assembly part number (prefix and suffix) D8TP-HB
Serial number 039840
Whenever there are specific parts for a transmission, the ID (PJA-AH4) is the number you'll need to get the right part.
