1962 F-250 4x4

I'm not a stranger to FTE or older Ford trucks as I have been buying, selling, parting out and fixing dent sides for about 2 decades. I recently switch gears when I ran across this 1962 for sale a few months ago. I never really paid much attention to the slicks before, although I always appreciated them as I do any old Ford truck. Now its a new learning game for me on these trucks. I bought this off a farm from a long time owner. Its got some rust and dents but runs and drives well. The 292 was replaced with a 360 at some point and currently has a NP 435 trans and a NP 205 underneath. 4.56 gears. My plans to do anything with this truck as of right now are minimal, other than push snow off my lane and property work. In the future I'd like to get it road worthy but I have two other classics in my garage that are in process of restoration.
You guys know these trucks better than I do so any comments, info or criticism is welcome. Thanks in advance!

The PO told me that he used a bed off of a two wheel drive truck and relocated the rear axel back a few inches to make the centering of the wheel well correct. I actually like this style bed better than the correct "wrong" style bed.

Thank you, Number Dummy for all the good info. Yes those horrible seats are out of a thunderbird. They have got to go! There is a hole on each side of the hood, above the F250 emblem. What was there?

Nothing FoMoCo related, it could have been the original selling dealers nameplate

Nice truck even with the seats. Someone also changed out the bed with a later style from 64 on as it would have had the older square box that was used on Ford trucks in the late 50's. The bed you have on it now is nicer anyway and looks like it belongs on it.
I'd like to have one like it as the 94 I have now is really getting to me. I still wish I had my 63 even if it only was a 2wd truck.

I definitely like the bed that is currently on it now. The condition isn't too bad. Some rust spots but nothing too bad for this area of the country. (I'm used to seeing stuff rusted to death around here!) Someone covered the bed floor with tin roofing but I'm not exactly sure why. The original floor underneath appears ok.
1964FORDTUF, I'd be interested in knowing what parts you may have. I would like to find a mirror for the pass side that matches the drivers side. I like that style. I did find a local CL ad that a guy is selling a bunch of parts for these. I may go see what he has available.
I think the biggest toss up right now is that finding another cab may be the better option than fixing the one I currently have. I would know for sure once I get it off and really see how bad the rust is. From reading posts on here, it sounds like there is a variety of cab differences from 61-66.

Sweet truck. Any chance we could get a few pictures of the front axle?

A few pics of the axle. Not the greatest with a camera phone.
