King Pin tricks?????

Are there any tricks to driving out the king pins? I have soaked it heated it and beat it and it wont budge!!!! And yes I removed the locking bolt!

I always use my special checkbook tool for stuff like that.

It helps let the axel down on a solid block of wood, that way the big hammer gives more impact to the king pin.

Too much beating just swells things and makes it worse. You should be using a press.

I got a little more aggressive with the heat and it drove right out!

Lots of penetrating oil and I have a 20 ton press, they just popped out. I have found more uses for the press over the years. Worth the money.

Second on the press...didn't take long to recoup the $150 I spent at HF for mine.
