Ford truck bed bolt lengths

So I replaced my fuel pump last week and decided removing the bed would be the best option given the age of the truck. It is a 99 f-250 super duty. Anyway, I busted two of the bolt heads off while getting the bed free so I bought some new ones at the local parts store. The guy at the counter matched the bolts with my truck. When I got home I noticed that the old bolts had two bolts out of 6 that were shorter than the others. The new bolts are all the same size across the board. My question is should I take the bolts back and search for the shorter bolts or will the the new bolts be compatible?

Hopefully someone has had the same issue and has a resolution.

Being as candid as possible, this truck is a pain in the rear to get parts for. From what I understand they changed some hardware half way through 99 so parts manuals continually give me the wrong part. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
-Nicl

Take the bolts back and get the two shorter ones from dealer or get the replacement set with clips ... Otherwise you will run short on threads on two of them

buy a complete kit of bed bolts / nuts on line and throw out the old ones. 40 bucks for the whole set.

It seems to me like a flap or door in the bed of the truck would be a handy dingus to have access to the fuel pump. Dropping the tank or pulling the bed, either is a PITA.
