Anyone good with plows need help?

8ft ss fisher worked fine last year went to move plow and when I hook it all up and push any buttos on the fish stick it goes off. If I turn my lights on the fishstick flashes a bunch and goes out and I won't turn back on?

I checked all fuses that I could find and wiggles all wires and nothing.

Have any buddies with a fish stick? I'd swap that first if that's an easy just to rule that out first.

Have you check all your connections? The 3 at the grill tend to be the most problematic

Yes, any loose wires, missing ground, a pinched wire, etc

99% of the time this is caused by a bad ground.

depends on the plow. there should be a ground wire to the plow pump, some have a solenoid to activate the plow pump that would have a ground, and the controller usually has a ground wire too.

So just clean the ground, tighten up wires around the soliniod and got the fishstick to stay on when I push up or down. Problem I'm having now is when I push up or down left or right nothing Happens but fishstick power light is on. Second problem is if I turn the headlights on the fishstick goes off and won't turn back on? Think I might have a wire in the wrong location but can't figure it out what do you think?

i think those connections look disgusting. i would not be surprised if you were not getting any power to the plow pump.

I can try cleaning them up with a small wire brush? But what about the headlight issue? Seems more than a bad connection or ground? But I don't know much about electrical so?

still sounds like bad connections. you are going to have to remove the cables and clean them. rust/corrosion in the connection and cables do all kinds of freaky things.

Remove all the cables out of the truck completely? Or just disconnect them from the soliniod and clean them up?
