05 F150 5.4 (lost drive & overdrive)

I have lost drive and overdrive. I have first and second and when I let off the gas pedal everything seems normal. When I am in drive with overdrive switched off and keep a steady speed it doesn't shift into drive. When I let off the gas in drive the tach goes to 1k and its like I'm in neutral. If I switch OD on it's like neutral and the engine revs. I have pulled the pan and valve body and do not see any metal. OD snap ring is intact. Fluid looks good with no burnt smell...I'm thinking shifting solenoids but have not tested them yet. There is no grinding noise at all and no slipping in first and second gears.
It threw cam sensors codes and I replaced both but I think that was from the neutral condition and test drove before dropping the pans and still no shifting to drive or OD.
No transmission codes

Regards,
Robert

Mine just did the same exact thing last month. 161xxx miles on it. I had mine rebuilt. You'll have to remove and open her up.

Can someone tell me how to test the solenoid pack for my 2005 5.4 F150 4R75E transmission? It has a three pin connector. Lost drive and OD.

Regards,
Robert

You could probably test it using some sort of OBD reader. I'm not sure if there's an easy way to do it at home.

There were no codes but I read where the shift solenoid pack could fail mechanically? Anyone have a procedure to bench test 4R75E the dual solenoid pack?

no codes? if not, problem is internal....... was the OD light in the shifter flashing? if not, very doubtful that the solenoids are the problem.

if you have drive with your overdrive off it possible one of these 2 is the problem.
Servo piston ring that broke and makes the piston drop to far that the oil cant activate your OD and can be done from oil pan
OD band can be replaced fairly easy.
when you open the tranny its the first part coming out al other gear and clutch stays in casing.

HOPE this Help if you need any pics of what it looks i can provide them for you
the clip is 7$ CaD then band is somewhere in the 40 to 80 depending where you go summit racing does have some perfomance
