1992 bronco help!

My bronco has started hesitating when I mash the gas. Sometimes it picks right up but other times it remains sluggish for a ways. It is also shifting REALLY hard. Need some help with problem. Idle is fine. Shouldn't't matter but I let the battery almost die and it seems to have started or gotten worse since then.

You need to check for codes before you do anything else. Look in the FAQ's section, you can do this yourself for free using a paperclip and counting the flashes of the CEL. I would recommend disconnecting your negative battery cable for a few minutes to clear all codes, then take it for a good test drive for awhile so we get the codes that really matter. I'm betting its going to be the VSS based on your description, but don't get tempted to just throw parts at the problem; you need those codes.

Go to your local auto zone or whatever. They usually do it for free.

You can do it manually but best to get the reader

Pulled codes before unhooking battery. Then decided to unhook and see if they were the same after. Now it is running fine. No signs at all. Wonder what gives???
