1948 F1 Auto Trans Shifter Options

Howdy folks. I'm looking for floor shifter recommendations for my 1948 F1. The truck currently has a GM TH350 trans with an old B&M mega shifter in it. Not my choosing, it was purchased this way. The shifter is not tall enough. I'm looking for recommendations on taller shifters, preferably with some type of performance action. Ideally, I'd love to try to find a shifter that allows for performance ratchet action for when duty calls at the drag strip. Every one I've seen in catalogs seems to be designed to leave it in drive. Any recommendations??? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the recommendation. They don't specify any sort of ratchet/performance shift features. Maybe I'll call them.

I would make a raised mount for the ratchet shifter. I think I have had just about all of them, B/M quicksilver unit was always my favorite. Simple enough to use and has full ratchet action when needed. Every mega shifter I had ended up tearing the boot and I didnt like having to use the finger lift lever.
If this were my truck I would switch to a column shifter to free up the floor space and tune the trans governor for wide open shifts at 6500 RPM or wherever you want them. Then you can just leave it in drive and mash the pedal.

There is a tall version of the B&M Megashifter. I had one in a NON- Ford.

It all depends on what you want, or like. If height is the only thing you do not like about the Mega Shifter that you have now, you could fab up a mount to raise it's height. Personally I like the Mega Shifter I have, but other than an old Mustang T shifter that came with the truck, it's the only shifter I've ever had. But as you know every one has there own taste. I've never driven a truck with the B/M Quick Silver Dave mentioned. Id would do some internet surfing after you have got gleaned everyone's thoughts here on this thread and then see what sounds best to you.
