2013 Ford Expedition Limited Fuel Mileage Issue
Purchased a used 2013 Limited Expedition for the wife about 6 weeks ago. Mileage on the highway is around 13-14, but the last tank in town was just under 8mpg. Vehicle currently has 70,000 miles on it. Any thoughts? Motor runs smooth, power is good, etc.
I do have AutoEnginuity with the Ford Bundle. Anything I can check on my own before taking it to the dealer for a Fuel Economy Road Test? Any idea how they run that test?
Thanks in advance, I'm new to all the technology on this thing. My 99 7.3 is a lot easier to diagnose.

Hook that AE to the wife's right foot!
Just kidding. :-)
Have AE monitor the instantaneous MPG while SHE is driving.
(BTW, one tank full doesn't tell the story.
Too hard to tell if the tank is full,
depending on where you park at the pump.
Fuel tank is long and narrow,
with the filler neck at one end.
So depending on the slope of the land at the pump,
you can have a significant variation in when its "full".
Keep track of the fuel used for a 1000 + miles,
then top up the tank and figure the mileage.
Now if your off a gallon or two it makes little difference,
while it makes a big difference on one tank full

I have an '07 Navigator and the Auto Enginuity with Ford bundle. My Navigator has 75,000 miles on it.
I drive with a very light throttle foot. That gets me 12-13 in town and freeways at 70 mph, air conditioner on, in summer temperatures I get 19 - 20 mph.
Being as you have AE - scan it, check for codes, and look at the voltage swings on the oxygen sensors - especially the upstream ones. (google or YouTube for tech help).
My wife does not drive our Lincoln. The mileage may vary if she did.
