I sliced off each end with a cut-off wheel and fabbed a bracket to bolt to it's mounting pads on the back of the bumper, it was very simple. I painted the back of the bumper and the edges where I used the grinder so they would not rust. Then I used some chrome push on trim to further hide the edge.

Thanks all for the good words. I'll post up more pics after cut and buff.

Thank you all! I've had a few of these trucks. As a matter of fact, my first vehicle was a 69 Ford Ranger XLT. I've learned a lot from the members of this board and I was lucky enough to find a good truck to start with. I love messing with old cars and trucks. This is my other baby...

Thanks, If you're talking about the plastic grill inserts, I just painted them with high temp header paint (The only silver paint I had). If you're talking about the grill itself, I polished it with Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish.

Have you heard of the blue tape project? Some guy here in WA started it. He put a strip of blue (painter's) tape across the width of his back window (near the top) to show his support for the police. Now it's spreading globally. Some of the hardware stores are giving out free rolls of blue tape.
