Transmission Question

http://image.fourwheeler.com/f/29259...ansmission.jpg

The hose in the top what is it for?

It's not connected to the rear of the transmission, it's just a hole there. What supposed to be in the hole?

I think it's a 4R100. 2000 Ford Excursion 6.8L.

Thanks!

It's the trans vent tube.

At the rear of it where it goes in the tranny, is there supposed to be a nipple of some sort for the hose to attach to?

It doesn't go into the rear of the trans. It's just laying that way. The nipple is at the front of the trans. The hose is tied up on the firewall of the engine compartment.

I think fluid might be coming from the rear top with the end of the hose sits!

Would Fluid come out of the hose?
Is the hose for pressure to be released through?

Fluid will only come out of the hose if the trans is overfilled. There will not be pressure in the hose. It's a vent.
