160/30 or 180/30 injectors

160/30 or 180/30 injectors
Looking at getting injectors later this year I was looking at full force and in the stage 1.5 injectors it mentioned the 180cc for superduty. I don't want to lose to much fuel economy and I don't really want to go over 400 HP. I have never heard much of people running the 180/30 mostly the 160/30. I want to go with new injectors also. I also don't want my egt's to sky rocket pulling a hill right now I'm usually right at 1200 with my 80hp tune from DP but I did just order a hydra with gearhead tunes so egt's might go down not sure.

This is a copy and paste from the Gearhead site:
"Stage 2 “A” Codes 94-03 7.3L – $1775.00
160cc/80% Nozzles – The increased flow rate of the 80% nozzles are capable of producing more than 80 RWHP over our Stage 1′s. These injectors are great for a person that wants to use their truck for daily driving, towing, or just playing around on the street. You can literally detune these injectors to run stock HP Levels or power levels of right at 400 RWHP. We recommend turbo and HPOP upgrades for these injectors, but it is not required. Custom tuning is required for optimal performance."
Since you have decided on a larger than stock nozzle, which some will disagree with, I would not limit myself to 30% nozzles. That way EGT's can be controlled even more by tuning by allowing more fuel thru the injector earlier in the injection event than what 30% nozzles will allow. 30% allow it to be a little earlier in the injection event than stock nozzles.
As the happy owner of 160/30's by P.I.S., I wish I had gone with the larger nozzle and capacity - 175/80's simply for towing. Again they can be detuned.
If you still decide to go with 30% nozzles you won't be unhappy. I would bump it up to the 180's for a little more UMPF on hills.

I am not telling you what to do by any means, but when I purchase new injectors I will be going with the AC from PIS.
NEW AC INJECTORS
I think I would appreciate the single shot over the split shot injector and if one happens to go bad while on the road I can source one pretty easily. I don't want to tie myself down where I would be in a situation that would have me waiting for one specific vendor to send me a specific injector.
That is just my point of view though.

These vehicles should have come from the factory with a nozzle closer to 80-100% (which would then be considered 0%). Injectors with 30% nozzles can easily be run on tuning for 0% nozzles with little to no perceived difference in the way they run which means that they're barely an improvement for the money spent...and they still have a hard time emptying at full tilt whereas the 80%+ can be fully utilized up to redline.

A friend of mine has 160/0% and saw about 315 RWHP on a dyno on GH tunes.
There was no smoke even at WOT.
Another friend hit 410 on 200/100's...again no smoke on GH tunes. I would take this to mean that the tune was tame, "detuned", and there was still some power left on the table.

The P.I.S. 175/80's are NEW.

The last time I spoke with Tim, he stated that he could build whatever I wanted. They used to advertise 160/80's as well as 160/100's a few years ago.
If memory serves me, I think he stated that the 0% and 80% nozzles were standard sizes and that they simply machine the 30%'ers out of 0's and the 100%'ers out of 80's.
I could be mistaken. I would call him and see if all of this still applies.
I don't think that the 175/80's will fuel that much more than the 180/30's that you were considering. Again, it will simply allow the fuel to get in there faster when you really push the throttle thereby allowing for lower EGT's with the proper tuning. Opinions will differ.
