Another option to you would be to find a salvage yard near you with the part you need - would probably cost less than $50.

When my PIP went bad I found one at a yard for $40 - it has been running strong for about a year and a half. Then you can take yours out and rebuild it at your convenience.

So far not luck finding anyone with a arbor press. It is tempting to get the new aftermarket dist.

Myself I have an arbor press but never use it for that. When I remove the distributor gear I use an hydraulic press instead.
The hydraulic press works well if you are careful.

It's been months since I posted about my stalling issue with my 95 F250. I decided to try a new distributor from Auto Zone ( Duralast Gold ). I installed it in the same position as the original and the engine started right up and seemed to run the same. I did not time it yet ( forgot the procedure ). I drove a far distance and the truck did not stall. However I now have a new problem, transmission stays into 1st gear way to long ( revs to 2500 ) then seems to shift into 3rd or 4th. I never had any problem with the transmission.I did drive the truck about 3 weeks ago with the original distributor about 3 mile and the truck stalled 2 times but no problem with transmission. Could this new distributor cause this or could I have disturbed something around the distributor area while working on it? Help

I see no way a PIP sensor can cause your transmission problem.
Maybe you disconnected the TPS or lost the PIP input to the PCM.
Time to check the codes, both the KOEO codes and the CM stored codes.

Thanks Subford. I will check the TPS tomorrow and for new codes. How would I lose PIP input to the PCM?

It would be a wiring problem between the splice to the ICM and the PCM Computer plug.
