2003 6.0 Delayed Acceleration

After running perfectly fine all day my truck will seem to bog down and when I press the accelerator the reaction is extremely delayed and tons of black smoke will come out of the tail pipe before the truck actually gains power and takes off. Any help or suggestions on what may be wrong will help!

{Ps the check engine light has been coming on but will turn itself off after the truck has been shutdown a few times}

Yes, a turbo charger code was read, but i was told that it could be because of the EGR delete.

On a 2003, an EGR delete shouldn't set a code. Even if a code was set, it wouldn't be an intermittent one.

Sounds to me like your turbo is sticking a bit. If you can, hook up to the heaviest trailer you can and take it for a good hard run. It will "excercise" the turbo and hopefully free it up some. If that doesn't work, it's time to pull the turbo and clean it. There's a few good videos in Youtube for cleaning the turbo.

Do you have a way to get live data from the truck?

I've had a cac boot throw that code. Do you have an EGT gauge? You'd know if your cac boots were off though

MAP sensor has a hand in boost for an 03'. Clean that and see how it does. And I'd recommend a live data device as well..... or your just guessing.
