Man you have it bad, first rust, then you get inspected for stuff that don't make sense. Really a rotten floor pan? A rotten core support? Guess each state is different, in my part of NM we don't even have inspections, lucky me right.

There isnt a truck up here without rust. I dont want my family or I driving an unsafe vehicle, but I would know if the floor pan is rotted out. It just has surface rust. Also, I would know if the core support was rotted out, but I think he told me that he can look the other way on it. I guess I will be ordering parts Monday, I think I can do everything on the list.

Seat belts are bolted to the floor. Rotted floor IS a safety issue. Surface rust can be cleaned up and repainted and protected.

Collision,

Is it possible that it's a cab mount that has a hole in it? They are common to get holes in them up in the rust belt. I've seen some pretty nasty ones looking at trucks.

I thought that, but the mechanic told my Dad (who talked to him while I was at work) that the hole is where your left foot rests while driving, but 6 inches to the left. Plus, my right cab corner is rotted, not my left. And the mechanic says the left side of the truck is where the "hole" is

Okay guys, so I talked to my mechanic and he said he mostly wants to see me with new wheel cylinders and emergency brake cables. This may sound stupid, but how do I know what brakes I have in my truck? Ive tried ordering rear brakes before, but they were too narrow. Also, how do I know which emergency brake will fit my truck? Will this one? Will it work for both left and right side?

More Information for ACDELCO 18P1776

Rear brakes on our trucks are the 3" wide ones.

The parking brake cable in your link is only the intermediate cable. The truck has four parking brake cables -- a front cable that connects to the pedal, two rear cables going to each wheel, and an intermediate cable connecting between the front and the divider/connector that connects the two rears. The front and rear cables all have housings. The left and right rear cables are different from one another, but there's no difference wrt. cab/bed size. Just make sure not to get the one for the ambulance or dually. The intermediate cable has to be the right length for your cab and bed size.

You should have the 3" brake shoes, duallys have the 3.5". and as for the brake cable there's a few there, the only way to know the brake cable you need is to meassure from center hub to center hub this will determine your wheel base and will tell you which cable you need.

I think you need to figure out what kind of leaf shackles. I would go with just the leaf spring bushings and get new shackles for the rear.
