Found this today. Paid 10 bucks, bought a spray can for 5 bucks and painted the trim black. Not bad for 15$

What did you find?

I pulled the complete wiring harness for cab lights off an F250 in order to install on my F150. Paid all of $2.50 for the complete harness. I have the connection behind my passenger kick panel so the install should be much easier now.

A few months ago I found a perfect gauge cluster bezel. And a really nice visor matching my interior color, for a grand total of $20.

Years ago I was looking for a window motor. I opened the door of a panel van to see if it had power windows only to find a Mexican dude leaning up against the wall in the back dropping a deuce. Ever since then I will pound on the side of any van I walk past in the JY!

A number of years ago, I found an overhead shelf system, identical to this one and was charged $5 for it.

I also picked up a behind the seat organizer and wasn't charged for it...a real nice leather like one that holds a shotgun quite nicely.

Oh, I also picked up a good running 1979 Mercedes 240D that has well over 250K on the odo now, for the princely sum of $350...needed two new glow plugs and was running like new. It's lived in three states, survived 3 kids driving it as their first car, and is now used by the wife for grocery runs. Picked it up in 2008. Looks like it never saw a garage, judging by the paint and seat tops, but is reliable as hell.

I think the Mercedes has been the best junk yard find so far.

Here is a pair of GT-40, 3 Bar heads from an early production 96 Explorer, for the whopping price of $106. F3ZE AA casting (For 93 Cobra & Lightnings, 1.54 vs later 1.46 ex valves) I'm going to swear that these are as they came down the line (and so will my FTE buddy who helped pull them) since nobody in their right mind would go to the trouble of replacing them & none of the compartment (bolt heads, wires, hoses, etc) looked touched.

The one on the left is the drivers side & has pink daubbed on the bars & the right is the pass side has blue on the bars...

Wednesday while mocking up the valve train, I found out the pink side is 7/16 head bolts & the blue is half inch...

I had all ready noticed this VVV when I cleaned the preliminary junk off:

I'm '89f2urd and I'm an addict. I'm 6 months clean, but I used heavily for 3-4 years. Reconning junkyards a few times a week, pulling countless dana 60's, Zf5s, 4bts, 6bts, zf6s, 6.0 PS (hence the addiction), 7.3s, t cases of all sorts, ls1s, lq9s, nv4500s, 8 lug dana 80s, leather seats, and some other oddball engines that were too valuable to pass up.

I've gotten my life back, now I wait for my junky friend to tell me what's there before I bother going.
