BEST BRAKES EVER

I just wanted to say Ive completed my hydroboost swap on my 79 bronco.

IT STOPS GREAT! Way better than vacuum set up

I recommend it to any body with a vac booster set up...especially if you plan to tow.

I used a 05-07 f450 hydroboost unit, bought an adjustable proportioning valve. One small brake line that goes from master cylinder to adjustable proportioning valve. Two hydraulic lines. -6 an fittings. Power steering cooler. Some rubber hose for the return.

Best money spent but spent to much trying to figure it out right. So itll be better to see something someone already has.

Get them!

Thanks for posting the pictures, I need to do this. I am a complete noob, pretty much everything I do to my Bronco is a first time deal. Is the plumbing pretty self explanatory?

Yes. I just had regular hydraulic hoses made and used -AN fittings on the hydroboost and ps pump.

Was going to make -AN hoses but stupid Fragola hoses use a different technique to make theirs. I wasted money with that.

I had to cut my brake pedal and bend the curve back straight some for the hydrpboost rod and weld it

Any reason you used the f-450 hydroboost verses something from a different model? I see mustang take off units are reasonably priced online.

I might have to do a hydroboost on my bronco. I'm having a hard time getting my hands on a dual diaphragm booster.

Its what i found on ebay at the time...just what i dont like about it is the master cylinder brake ports are toward the engine.

Manfred , that's neat , curious to what $$$ you had invested in it , was the power steering cooler lines not sufficient enough?. Having 37 inch tires on my 1992 I am curious in doing this , will also tow a boat. My truck has antilock brakes front only . I presently have the fuse pulled. TR

I wasted money trying to use -AN hose. Just went with hydraulic hose instead. I say i have..eh...maybe $100 or so..more or less in that.

About $30-$40 in adjustable proportioning valve

Saginaw pump maybe $100 or more

Hydroboost off ebay was $119

Had to buy new master cylinder for around $120-$140

-AN to 16mm adapters about $25

Cooler $20-40

Rubber hose and hose clamps $15
