Heres some more updates: Got new plugs, wires, rotor and cap on. What a nightmare. The cap screws were corroding away and impossible to get a grip on. We ended up using a chisel to break off the cap so the screws were exposed, then dremeled a slot in each one and worked them out slowly with vice grips, big flathead and deep creep. Didnt break either screw but was definitely a stressful couple hours lol. Also of pic of cleaned but cluttered interior.

Also got rear bumper from my parts truck installed. It sucks that its tweaked on one side but oh well. Also installed new rear axle break lines, vent, flex hose and muffler/tailpipe. Ill be redoing the rest of rear brakes soon. Got her started: both tanks primed and gauges are accurate. Turned it around to start on the front: oil pan gasket, front bumper, shocks, radius arm bushings and whatever else i find lol. It ran and idled nice (the old plugs, wires cap and rotor were shot) besides dripping oil haha. Also notice the heater blower only works on high so i have to look into that. Still a lot more do but im getting there.

Keep up the hard work. Truck looks way better now. Cash for Clunkers is over , so we gotta keep these rides on the road. At some point they are called classics for a reason. Because they are just as good as they were.

Slowly coming together with the weather causing setbacks. Well I spent a good part of a day changing the oil pan gasket. Got it done without jacking up the engine and felt pretty good about it. Until I went to put oil in and it was still dripping. It ended up being the gasket for the pushrod cover! I felt like an idiot and changed the oil pan gasket for nothing haha. It was leaking by the ps pump all along!

So I got a new felpro gasket, cleaned and painted the cover, wiring harness bracket and coil bracket. Also replaced the coil and a capacitor (electrical noise surpressor) that was rusted out. Ran it for about 15 mins with no noticeable leaks. Got it pulled in the barn so I can continue working regardless of the weather. Here's a pic before coil and wires were back on. Wish I had removed and painted the dipstick tube now lol...

Finally got started on the front end. Got the coil spring and old shocks off the driver side. What a pita! Have 4 new front shocks and will be getting a set of moog cc824 coils. Also will be replacing radius arm bushings. Got the lockout removed and will checking over brakes and repack wheel bearings. The shock tower is still nice and solid. Can't wait to get things cleaned up and painted.

Got the drivers side coil spring on and removed the radius arm bracket to replace bushing. The bracket is worn out and needs to be replaced. Also removed lockouts and hub to check wheel bearings, seals and brakes. Rotors and pads will be OK. Dont know about the caliper yet. I dont need to pull the axle but will loosen and clean up spindle nuts so they can come off in the future if need be.

I also snapped off the lower shock mount stud for the front front (lol) shock. Surprisingly the cheap shocks I got came with new studs so the broken one was drilled out.

Got ball joints, coil springs, shocks, u joints, radius arm brackets/bushings, new milemarker lockouts done on both sides. Also, rear drums and e brake cables. Put on aftermarket front bumper, new battery and got the bed mounted today. Got insurance and will get plates tomorrow. Also need to change blower motor resistor. It's been quite a journey so far and it not over yet. But at least it's moving on its own again!! I forgot how smooth and quiet the big six is
