Stalling at low rpm

Hi everyone, I have a 88 f250 custom. I recently had the fuel pump replaced after it cut out completely on me one day. The truck starts just fine, but when braking, going down hills, or coming to a stop it seems to stall every now and then. Obviously I want this fixed before I start hauling things and become a wrecking ball on wheels. Any thoughts? This stalling problem started as soon as the new pump was installed.

Does it want to stall in any other situation? What if you rev it in park/neutral? Does it want to stall when it comes back down to idle?

Update

So I got a new throttle sensor and idle air control, I ran it for 20 mins and it ran great other than a struggling idle at one stop light. After a few hours I took it home and it stalled 2ce. Once was as I as on the gas. I'm lost. Fuel pump and fuel pressure is good

Will definitely do that. Could it be a vacuum leak? Most of the hoses on this thing are original. I haven't checked that yet

It could possibly be a vacuum leak. Try looking for suspect hoses, especially the hard plastic (usually red/green) vacuum lines.

How did you attempt to the pull the codes? Paperclip/jumper or code reader?

Could be as simple as corroded pins in the data link connector. Spray some contact cleaner on them or use a small fingernail file to shine them up.

Highly suggest you clean the data link pins. This assumes you got no codes at all, not the System Pass 11/11.

I told my mechanic to replace the fuel pump. It just bothers me how when it first went on it leaked really bad then the issue started. Plus thats cheaper than a pcm. Need to get this thing fixed soon

Forgot to mention, sometimes when it stalls it doesn't shut off completely for a few seconds. When u hit the fuel it's like it's just out of gas then it finally dies. Other times it shuts off immediately
