Wouldn't it be great to go back in time and walk into that store and just hang out for a few hours?

That was a nice body style......My other half doesn't like this one, she says it's too loud (never too loud) and it has no A/C......
She's awfully particular.....

Since I got laid-off 18 months ago I have gone back to school to get some training as a machinist. So now I have started making metal spin tops.

Also been working on modding my 2015 Scout a little. Still want to bob the rear fender.

I envy you on that coupe, I've always wanted one around the model years 35-40

Here are some interior pics of my garage from 1947 with the owner August Bradshaw and a few of his workers:

August Bradshaw (original owner of the Front Street Garage from 1930 to his death in 1954) - the cash register on the counter is a 1922 National and I found the EXACT same make and model which I will restore myself later this year (something else I will have to learn!)

The Front Street Garage was a gas / service station until WWII when it switched over to a new / used tire - tire recapping service shop.

August and his crew of workers at the garage.

And starting Labor Day I start restoring the cash register for the garage. Something I have never done before and have close to zero knowledge but I am sure I will do fine!

1922 National Cash Register

Looks like a wood grain cabinet model 900. Take lots of detail pictures of anything you disassemble. Put timing marks on any gears or segments that mesh. Don't disassemble anything you do not have to. Chances are the printer will be gummed up, jammed up and the pot metal type wheels gone.

Yep, 1922 - 1923 National Cash Register Class 900.
And I plan on hitting this thing as if I were to do brain surgery the first time: Nice and slow and precise....

Scored a HUGE part of the garage's past yesterday...
Was connected with a guy who used to work at the garage from 1943 to 1958ish - he started working there at the age of 10! And his uncle was August Bradshaw and we were one the phone for a little over an hour and he remembers so much from his days - seeing he is 83 now. I told him he is my new best friends. Will make things a lot easier getting it to look like the first picture now.
