Gooseneck safety chain attachment points

Our F250 has a fold-down gooseneck hitch, but nothing to hook safety chains to. I'd like to have something that does not stick up more than 3/4" when not in use, and obviously attaches to the frame rails. Any ideas? We haul a 12k trailer so I'd like a sturdy solution.

Have you looked at the hitch from under the truck? The hitch might already have places for u bolts that were never installed.

Not sure as I ordered mine with the Gooseneck and 5th Wheel prep kit from the factory so everything was there already.
I would check under the bed to see if there might be something there like '65Ford suggested.

Nothing under the bed. It's sort of crazy that the hitch has nothing for chains. I can cut holes in the bed and weld on some attachment points to either the hitch frame or the truck frame, but it would be nice if it had a way to be removed when not in use as my ball folds into the floor.

If you have a gooseneck hitch setup with a fold down ball then I can't believe it doesn't have a spot to hook up chains. I would take it to a trailer hitch shop and see if they can figure it out. What kind of hitch is it?

It's a TransTech 20k fold-down hitch. I was surprised that there was no way to attach chains. The closest hitch shop is about 100 miles away, so I'll have to come up with a solution on my own.

Looking at the hitch from underneath, are there any holes in the underbed plate that has holes that could be used for the U-bolts? I would guess that the U-bolts weren't installed.

No, the plate (roughly 16"w X 12"L) has no holes in it. I am going to use spring-loaded U bolts and add them to the plate or maybe through the floor into the hitch crossmember.
