The cam synchronizer should only effect the injector pulse, not the fuel pump. You should confirm that you didn't inadvertently trip the fuel pump inertia switch, then check for voltage to and through the switch.

It wouldn't be unheard of more than one thing to fail. My friend called me over several months ago to help him diagnose his '96 Explorer Sport. His wife drove it home from work, parked it in the drive way, but it wouldn't start the next morning. I first checked for fuel pressure, it was fine. I then checked for spark and there was none. I used my oscilloscope to confirm there was no pulse from the crankshaft position sensor. The next day he went to the part store for a new CKP sensor, installed it, still no start. After he promised me that he had properly spaced it, I went back over. He had spark this time, but no fuel pressure. The next weekend he replaced the fuel pump and the truck started right up.
