the other end of the hose goes to the intake manifold or a fitting on it... Start the motor and see if there is vacuum at the fitting.. if not, remove it from the manifold. You have to have vacuum INSIDE the manifold or truck would not be running.
where does the hose connect to the manifold ? There must be some type fitting in the manifold that the hose clamps onto ? Maybe I don't understand, but why pull the manifold at this time ? Why not poke a thin screwdriver into the fitting and see if it is plugged or can the fitting be unscrewed from the manifold ?

May have to pull intake to see if something else came unplugged. Still unsure why brakes aren't working
Update- found 90 degree hose for brake booster and now have vacuum there. Now truck will start but not run, have a coil pack H code and intake stuck shut code, what would cause intake to stick shut?
