Interesting issue with the drivers door electric panel

All,

I am having an interesting issue with the drivers door electrical panel. I have searched online, I have investigated this issue and still cannot cannot find a solution.

The drivers door switches were working fine up until 2 days ago. Here are the problems.

The mirror switch will only move the mirrors up no other direction.
The door windows do not work (the other door window switches also do not work)
The unlock and lock switches work fine.

The fuse did not seem to be bad, and I was also concerned because the mirrors only go one way.

Any suggestions as to what to do?

Thanks

Just went thru this, They are two separate modules. The mirrors started going wacko for awhile and then stopped working completely. then the window buttons...... Pull the plate they are mounted to and check the connections first, If no success, swap 'em out. other folks have managed to pull the old mods apart and resurrect them. I don't know, too many little parts to lose. Dorman makes replacements for both. All the usual auto parts store can get them for you. Good luck....

Try pushing the mirror glass all the way down and all the way left or right. See what you see.

The units are used.

Do you mean manually push the mirrors in?

Yes sir, If they are beyond the detent points from a car wash or a brush with anything, they won't respond. Push them manually up down, left right and then center them and see if they respond to the switch commands.

Just to double check, what fuses are for the window switches. I am thinking it has to be a fuse issue since none of the windows work in the entire truck.

If both window switches failed simultaneously than I would suspect the wiring. the schematic should be checked but I believe the two doors share a common ground and the wiring has been known to become chaffed or broken within the looming at the drivers side door hinge space. If there's a spot that looks too compressed or worn down and open then just slice the loom open and inspect the wiring.

What year is the truck? Wiring changed a lot after 2001. IIRC up to 2001 the GEM module can get wet in heavy rain. The windshield seal can leak and allow water to drip onto it. Located behind dash above PCM I think. 2002 has a VSM to control those functions that can also fritz but it's located behind the radio and not affected by leaky seals. Also expensive and needs to be programmed by dealer, or very savvy person with AE.

It is a 2001.

I am hoping the GEM is not bad, I have been researching it since you left the comment.

It appears that all other electronics in the truck are working except for the mirror switch and window switches.

I am hoping that it is a ground wire or a fuse. I am still not certain that I checked the right fuse. I am hoping someone can tell me exactly what fuses to check before I check every single fuse.

The only other electronics in the truck are the cab dome lights which do not have bulbs in them, they havent since I owned the truck.

Additional details on the problem: I did swap the drivers front door out last weekend. Everything was working fine for a few days after then bam this issue. I am hoping I did not damage any of the wiring from the door swap.

Any other thoughts would be apprciated

Attached are the fuses in my truck, the fuses indicated with red lines next to them did not show power to my test light.

I am going to replace them tomorrow. If there is any other input I would really appreciate it.
