Rodney, any must see's or must do's while up there? Being we've never been to Maine we'd like to see the highlights anyway. I'm going to go all tourist and say I really do want to see a moose. The precipice trail sounds awesome, but I think it may be a little adventurous for kiddo. Wifey picked him up a moose onesie for the trip today!

Moose are here and there but much more common at dawn and dusk along the roadways. They are also much more common when you get away from the shore. IE: west of 95 and up into the mountains. The western mountains are actually my favorite part of Maine. The coast is very scenic with more "culture" and better food. But the western mountains along the route 201 corridor is just breathtaking if you get far enough out. There is nothing there but wildlife and loggers but that's my cup of tea.
Around the campground, Acadia NP is right up the road. It can be a drive through or a day trip depending on how much time you want to explore. Lots to see there.
Bar Harbor is a really neat town with tons of shops and restaurants. Nothing cheap but easy to kill a day and part of your budget there.
Anther great thing to do is just cruise RT 1 along the Maine coast. Every town has something to offer or see.
I'll ask the wife for more ideas. She more the even planner while we're out. If it was up to me, I'd just end up relaxing in or around the RV and drinking adult beverages. The usual routine is, she makes a plan, drags me into it, I complain, then enjoy it. Then I let her drive on the drive back and grab a few roadies....LOL... Best of all worlds...

Thanks Rodney. I'd definitely like to take a drive out to the mountains and look around. I'm usually more of the planner for these things though I've been kind of hitting a bit of a wall. I'd like to check out a lighthouse and there seem to be plenty to chose from! Some of the old forts look cool also. I like to explore when we go out, check out the local flavor, though at least for a day or two I'm ok with relaxing at the trailer.
