Looking for a new used truck (6.0 or 6.6)

Debating between the 6.0 (preferably already bulletproofed) and a 06-07 LBZ. I know that it has been asked many times before and I have read as many threads on a dozen different websites as I can. I'm wanting to stay away from the dpf systems entirely although I not totally against one of the new diesels with the scr system but they're mainly above what I want to spend. I really like the looks of the 03-07 SDs and I like the cat eyed Chevys. The biggest issue is the motors. A bulletproofed 6.0 or a 6.6LBZ. Anyone had both that can give a side by side opinion? I'm probably not going to be hauling stuff real often but frankly my last diesel did spoil me so towing anything with a gas motor just irritates me no end.

There's no such thing as a bulletproof 6.0. I've seen plenty with thousands spent in preventative maintenance come back on tow trucks. The LBZ was more reliable than the LLY but when I had the LLY it seemed to get the best mileage of the duramax line. I would never own a chevy again though, the truck itself has more problems and the wear/tear items go bad much quicker than Ford. You've done the research, pick your poison there or buy a 6.7 and deal with all the BS emissions crap.
I owned 1 duramax, several cummins and many powerstrokes. Chevy is far and away the least durable truck of the 3. Our local fleet markets are dominated by Ford, followed by Ram and chevy is no where.

I love Ford, but if I had to chose from any diesel newer than the 7.3 I'd go Dodge/Cummins.
