No acceleration in first gear, bit scalded ape in second?
Hey all,
I recently picked up a 2008 f350 dually with 6.4 and 4.30 rear end. Engine was bad when I got it, swapped in new engine.
I know some of my Fords in the past regulated power by what gear it's in, at this could certainly be the same.
If I am at a dead stop and get on it hard it is almost gutless then second gear hits and Zoom. Some of it may be turbo lag but I'm seeing 15ish lbs of boost.
Is this typical? Having never driven one of these I just am not sure.
Thanks all!
Brandon

I hit and held it today WOT (about 200 miles on the new engine and didn't want to abuse it previously). It def is turbo lag, I just figured with a 4.30 and 1st gear it would be ridiculous , thank you for confirming
