Hello everyone.
My 95 Powerstroke has running issues.
It's an F250, 4x4, extended cab, M/T with Luk clutch, 270,000 miles.
Here's what I've dealt with so far.
Driving down the road it just shut off. Disconnected Fuel heater while there, it started and ran back to destination. Thought that was it. Started a week later to fill tanks and on restart it was running rough like on 2 cylinders. Checked IPR wiring and somehow I Broke solenoid. I replaced with used solenoid only. It started and ran a few miles and started running rough again. While doing a wiring wiggle test it started running fine. Thought it might be a bad Harness. Checked harness and found no problems. No Codes. Thought Bad IDM so replaced with no correction. Engine would start and run fine cold for a minuet or so and start running rough once it started getting warm. Did this over and over. Finally started throwing P1668 PCM -IDM Diagnostic Communication Error.
Upon removing PCM, noticed Ground wire on bottom of PCM connector was pulling tight on harness and pulled from connector. Repaired and removed plastic cover of connector to give it room.
I pulled PCM and disassembled.
I noticed a Capacitor leaking so I replaced capacitor and thought it to be fixed, as it ran with no problems for some time.
Now, starts cold, starts missing, no codes.. Once warm, runs fine. WTF?
I am assuming PCM again, haven't had time to check out yet.
Thought I would join and post since I'm here.
I'm looking for a PCM internal Schematic for system ID.
Any Thoughts?
