I just bought a fresh 1996 econoline e-150 and want to upgrade certain things like the tv and certain outdated things in it. Is there a good site or resource to use to find these things? also is it possible to make the passanger seat a swivel so it can turn around? thank you.

 

Local Car Radio shop would be the easiest for any upgrades or Crutchfield.com , all the newer equipment has different connectors and somethings require there own harness to harness adapters and Dash kits etc. The passenger seat Air Bag might have a pressure sensor wire in/under the seat cushion and that's pretty much when they stopped putting in front swivel seats. You can find after-market pass swivels but it's a 'big liability issue'..................

 

I see, thank you for that info. I'm just a DIY kinda guy and have done installs but for the tv it's going to be hard to find a bracket to fit it right and things like that. I have the wiring diagram but just curious if there are some cool van sites I should know about with parts for upgrades and camper conversion items maybe. Thanks again

 

Unless you have a Sportsmobile or an Explorer Conversion there isn't much available, most of the Conversion companies were out of business before the Internet boom and never had a website or stores. You might find some universal plastic things like cup holders or lens covers still around, but anything like wood trim and materials are rare one of a kind parts now. Any upgrades would be a custom install and require like skills.................

One important thing to consider regarding the TV. Since the US switched to digital transmission you'll either need a converter box at the antenna or a newer TV with proper tuner.

 

If your van is an aftermarket conversion, (High Top with a TV) Then a site like this might be what you want.
