Glovebox Spring?

Hey guys, I didn't document this part of the disassembly for my build very well, so I'm having difficulty putting it back together. Where does the glovebox door spring go and how does it mount? I'm assuming it goes in this hole below my hand, but there's nothing to retain it or attach it to. Am I missing a part?

That's the hole for the optional glove box light. The spring goes just above it.

Hmmm, now I'm even more confused. I don't have that hole

You could always make a hole. Does the button the spring goes around still have the clip on it to snap into a hole. Maybe someone could get the hole size for you.

I guess I'll have to. The spring and button were in my disassembly parts baggie marked "glove box". If my dash doesn't have a hole for the door spring, where on earth did I get the spring from? Such a mystery!

Maybe not a mystery.
Is this truck a 78-79? Ford made a lot of little detail changes starting in '78. The picture I posted is a '75 model.
Are the little rubber bumpers in the picture new or are they original to the truck? The reason I ask is because in the parts catalog, in the illustration, while not very clear or detailed, it looks like the spring and bumper take the place of the little bumper. I just wonder if that's a change that Ford made some time after '75.
Another interesting thing, under quantity required, for the little rubber bumper it says 1 or 2. Under the spring and bumper it just says 1 for each.

Damn, they really wanted that door to open! Thanks for the input guys, I'll replace one of those bumpers with the spring. I honestly don't remember how it was before I took it apart.

Does anybody know where I could get one (or two) of those springs? I've never seen them before and my 78 doesn't have any. The spring I've found (D Carpenter, etc. has them), its the retaining clip (C6AZ-6206066-A?) that goes through the spring.

If you don't mind a bit of shipping Tony's Ford Truck Parts in Portland likely has a couple dozen for you

According to my parts locator Dennis Carpenter also has 125 of the C6AZ-6206066-A clip.
