Converting to Carb from EFI

Alright guys I need help converting a late 90's block 302 to carburation. I'm going mechanical fuel pump which means I'll have to use an eccentric. From what I understand the stock timing set will not allow me to put an eccentric on it. Will a stock replacement for any mechanical fuel pump 302 block fit on it? Another thing is those dowel pins. When I took the eccentric off of my 74 351w block the camshaft dowel did not penetrate the eccentric. It had a lip that went in the timing set so I'm just going to reuse it if I can.
