The cable adjuster also works when the parking brake is applied to help keep the shoes properly adjusted.
Four hours to do one side? If you haven't done drums before it can be a bit of a struggle but....
Don't forget to replace that seal otherwise your new brake shoes will soon be oil/grease soaked junk.

If the hub seals are leaking you'll be getting to do all this again.
First thing to check is that the axle breather is clear.
This is a hollow bolt holding the brake hose junction block to the axle housing itself.
There should be a tube slipped over that bolt, with the other end clipped to the top frame rail.

^^^ This is something to check for. Mud daubers and maybe wasps or whatever, critters anyway like to set up shop inside the hose, plugging it up. With the vent stopped up like a cork it will soon leak at the seals.
