MBRP Turbo Back Exhaust

Are there any of you out there running an MBRP turbo back exhaust setup that have seen what appears to be an exhaust leak at the front of the muffler? The front of the muffler is covered in soot residue.

Exhaust leak / soot buildup pre-muffler.

Is this a separation of the seam of the muffler?

Another angle.

The gap at the bottom of the muffler.

Yep. A failure of the muffler right beside the weld. You can weld it back up or replace it.

The muffler is a waste. The CAT will suck up more sound than anything else. My MBRP muffler went in the trash right out of the box.

If you have a 2003 turbo like I do, you keep the muffler so people don't know when you're coming or going. I had a straight pipe on my truck from August 2014 till June 2016. All it did was sound cool then I got a muffler and my truck is happier.

Mine is factory without a cat...so I got the one with a muffler. On top of that I have to get emissions tested every year. Not sure if it would automatically fail due to no cat and no muffler.
