Exhaust 1977 f250 with 460 2wd

Hey all, I feel defeated a bit. I'm swapping in a 460 into my f250 2wd 1977.... I'm using my exhaust manifolds but Im having trouble finding an exhaust system I can buy. I know it would be cheaper to take it to an exhaust shop but that's just not going going to happen. I actually don't mind the stock exhaust sound on my 351m but I'm sure I need a bit larger. I don't care if it's a y pipe into a 3" exhaust or 2 1/4" duals . The 460 is fairly stock and I'm cheap.

I'm looking for something simple that I can just bolt in. Will an exhaust for a 390 or 351m fit with some minor fitting?

Thanks

The stock manifolds just use two bolts to hook up the pipe, your stock 351m exhuast will bolt up to the 460 manifolds no prob, that big block will sound alot better than that 351m too. i got stock manifolds and 3inch straight pipe with flowmasters 44's, thing sounds throaty and mean, really has a good rough sounding idle. you don't need anything fancy for a 460 to sound good, straight pipes are cheap too and you could weld it up yourself, i would just use what you have from the 351m.

Thanks, I didn't realize my current exhaust would line up with the new engine. That will save me a ton money and time. I'm about ready to pull the motor as I have a buyer for it..

I have a 77 with a 460 the two pipes go into the muffler, and come out one. Nice and quiet but still throaty enough to tell its a big block. very little cab noise inside

Thanks all, dies any one know if the y pipe or dual systems for 351/400 or FE engine bolt up to stock 460 manifolds? I guess my concern is buying a kit an then it not be workable...

I'm fairly deep into this engine swap, I'm trying to get into these exhaust manifold to exhaust bolts. What a pita.... I'm tempted to saws all the y pipe out of there
Is there any reason to save it? I'm guess I'm looking for c a definitive answer that my y pipe from the 351m will fit the new 460 going in. Otherwise I'm chopping it out....
