I have 2 6.0s. I bought this one I'm having issues with from a friend. It had a bad hpop. Replaced it and never registered it so I never drove it. I would let it run for hours over the winter but it didn't make it 15 miles on the test drive when I went to sell it before it died. It took a year to find a couple that were interested enough to test drive and it dies on me! I thought I got a good deal and could make a littlelittle extra $ but I can't give this truck away.

Went out one morning and had a crank no start. Bought a scan gauge II to help figure out what's wrong and I came up with low oil pressure from the hpop. Tore it apart replaced it with a reman from diesel care and it fired right up. Drove it maybe 25 MI and it died. Towed it home took out the ipr and it was caked with crap. I installed a new ipr and fired back up. At this point I decided I hate ford's and want to sell my turd so I shine it up but on the test drive with the potential new owner it dies and leaves me stuck with a tow bill home. I crank watching the gauge and it comes back with ipr at 85 percent and icp in the high 300s. So I take it back apart make sure the d ring and orings are in their proper spots and in good shape. And they are. Tried a new ipr with no luck. So with it all apart I applied air directly to the hpop an can hear a gurgling from below. This new hpop has no more then 50 miles on it so I highly doubt it has failed. I've never done a pressure test and not sure what sounds are normal or what to look for. When air is applied to the top Of the pump still in the truck should any air be seeping out the bottom? And if so what does it mean?
Highlighted is what I'm referring to

Hard to say. The particles were very small. Couldn't tell if they were magnetic or not. I did see some pieces that looked like they might have been a part of a fine screen. Maybe from oil cooler? Delta always looked good on the scan gauge tho.
