3 Part Question - Bed Liner, Tonneau, Trailer brake controller
Just finished trading in my F250 reg. cab for a new 2016 F150 XLT 157" WB Supercrew (the 6.5 ft bed with LED lights) with 3.5L EcoBoost. Now organizing my purchase of a bed liner and a roll-up tonneau. Truck did not come with OEM trailer brake controller but I'd like to add it too. So my questions:
1) Bed cover - I've used and liked Penda drop-in liners in my previous F150/F250 trucks. Yes cargo can slide but that works both ways - getting stuff into/out of the bed is easier. I am guessing if I get a Penda drop-in for the new 2016 I'll have to make my own cut-outs for the LED lighting. Anybody do this? Or is the consensus to get something like a Bedrug or a DualLiner "sectional" type bed liner system? I do not really want a spray-in liner. I do want a liner that covers the wheelwells and protects the bed wall next to the cab. What recommendations do you have?
2) Tonneau - I've used and liked Truxedo Lo Pro QT roll-up cover on my F250 (8 ft bed). It worked well/sealed well and had no issues with the Penda drop-in liner I had in the F250. Any feedback on any issues from other 2015-2016 F150 users that have the Truxedo Lo Pro QT system?
3) Trailer brake controller - I have "assumed" I can retroactively add a TBC in the near future - any feedback on others that may have done this?
Many thanks for any feedback...

The brake controller part# FL3Z-19H332-B about $110.00 goes in the cubby hole beneath the trailer back up ****, the matching plug in behind this cubby hole you take out. Find the connector and plug together and insert into the hole. The dealer i bought the truck from programmed mine for free. It took him about 2 minutes with the laptop software.

In addition, Ford offers the drop in bedliner for the F-150 that's already pre-cut for the LED lights and switch. For a 6.5' bed, part number: FL3Z9900038BA
Penda makes them for Ford btw.
The Sport Rugs are also really nice. Take your pick either way, really just depends on what you'll end up using your bed for. If it's going to see some heavy equipment/impact from time to time, go with the drop in liner. If not, you can get the Ford version of the Sport Rug with the holes already pre-made for the LED's: VFL3Z9900038AB
The Truxedo Lo Pro QT is also the same tonneau offered through Ford, and yes it works just fine on the F-150 with either bedliner option. Ford's part number on that is: VFL3Z99501A42KA
Not sure where you're shopping for these but at least now you have some info to get some price quotes.

Barry,
Tom put a video together to install the factory brake controller. I purchased mine off of Amazon, don't remember how much it was. I had a local private shop, who owns the factory diagnostic software (laptop) program mine. It was quick and easy. I believe they charged me 80 to get it done, but I was in a hurry.
FYI: here's the thread with the Vid.
