Question clutch

I have a 95 ford ranger xlt 2.3 5 spd 177k miles on it.
recently put new clutch slave cyl , and clutch master cyl on it. Problem is sometimes clutch pedal has no play in it , other times it has at least half the pedal. I have bled at least two pint cans of fluid thru it, doesn't seem to have any air in the lines. Help !! don't know what to do from here, any ideas.

Wanna join my lynching party for the engineer who chose and designed the hydraulic clutch system?

Mine is just almost able to disengage so I lightly grind into reverse but it wont creep.
And I need to be in first before stoping or it wont go into any gear lower than 3rd!

But if I have sombody step on the clutch climb under and I shove a socket in there to heep the lever from returning, you pull the pedal up and it works fine when I next step on it, but just that once!
And I bled the system several times and hear and see no air at all!

W T F ???

Thumbs down clutch

I just might join your lynching party, well i grind going into reverse if i don't first go into a forward gear, when i stop i can usually get it into 1st pretty easy, but shifting to 2nd is a little hard sometimes. i dunno , i guess it's one of fords better ideas.

Shifting on the fly is no problem even without the clutch, just wait for the input and output shafts to match speed as the engine decelerates, pushing lightly for it to go into the next gear, and it will slip into gear like a class "A" tranny does.
I have had so many crapy vehicles in my life, I just call it practice.

I read somewhere once that you have to unbolt the master cylinder and tilt it because it gets an airlock due to the way it is mounted. Never have tried it but it's supposed to do the trick!

I guess I'll try that, it's not like I could do any more damage with the brake fluid than I already have!
There's no smooth paint left in the whole area all the way down to the frame!

I went to check the linkage adjustment and found the linkage from the lever to the master cylinder was worn and wallowed out big time!

It was causing way too much slack in the linkage.

I took it appart and welded it up, re ground/drilled it to fit and the clutch works now!
