Question `02 F-150 A.C. Lines

I'm wondering if anyone can describe which AC line is which, where the suction tube is and maybe why there is such disparity in pricing. Also pictures would be great!

Thanks,
Steve Ealy

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here. Disparity in pricing between lines, manufacturers of lines, or what? There's the low side and high side. Low will have a blue cap and red cap indicates high side. The fittings are clearly different, with the high side having a slightly larger port. If you follow the lines from the drier those are the low side. Suction and discharge lines come together at the compressor and are made as one unit on that truck.

The above helps! The pricing varies wildly for replacement of these parts. I was quoted a replacement price of $220.00 for just one of the lines. I'm just trying to figure out which one that is and whether that quote was exorbitant...

Thanks!

Installed that seems like a fair price. Have the shop show you the line they're referring to.

Have you considered asking whoever gave you the quote which line it is that they priced for you?

Of course I've considered that but, the long passage of time since my visit makes me think they would not remember me. The idea was to buy the hose aftermarket, and take it to them (the shop).

Be careful with that. Most shops won't install customer supplied parts.
