1974 F-250 Power Ram Assist Centering Nut Location Inquirey
Hey guys , where or how do I access the centering nut on my 1974 F-250 4x4 ? I'm assuming it would be on the control valve arm , but the control valve arm/pitman arm are out of a 1976 F-250 , I swapped it in there for the longer pitman arm along with the ram cylinder that wasn't leaking , hooked it all up , purged it , drive it for a bit , now it turns slightly to right on its own occasionally , also wants to pull that way on the road , not a good thing when it's got about a foot lift 😂 I noticed guy before welded the bolt on the backside of the control valve arm , hope that's no the adjuster haha , Some diagrams and or pictures would be super cool as well , thanks ,

A '76 should be the Bendix style valve.
The shop manual is really vague on the adjustment of the valve. The only time they mention it is in the reassembly of the valve after overhaul. In step (5) it says: "Place centering spring and related parts as shown in Fig. 14 in position and tighten spool nut to 8-12 ft-lb torque. (Note: Be sure the centering spring land washers are not cocked on the spring spacer as the spool bolt nut is tightened) then back off spool bolt nut 1/6-1/4 turn (1/6-1/4 back off, is in addition to actuator window opening to ball stud lash)."
In the illustration, the centering spring the instructions refer to is the little group of parts that have basic p/n 3C517 and the nut is 34443-S.
Here's the illustration from the parts catalog:
