6 or 7 Quarts?
Ok guys since I've had my Ex (V-10) I've been putting in 6 Quarts of oil every oil change.
Well I'm at the FORD DEALER now getting my oil changed and now they're telling me it takes 7 Quarts!??
And this is the same dealer that I've been bringing the truck to for months.
And yes I check the dipstick after a 6 quart oil change and it always reads FULL!
So how much are you guys using?
If I'm not mistaken I read somewhere on here that it takes 6.

It even states that if you put more than that in it could damage your engine and would need a "service professional" to remove some of the oil. It then states that if the oil is anywhere within the min and max level on the dip stick DO NOT ADD OIL. Which I think is weird as I try to run it at the max.

The difference between the "Low" and "Full" marks on most dipsticks is one quart.
I've seen many 5 quart engines running on less than 2 quarts of oil. (Without low oil pressure indications)
On the flipside, I've watched newbies at shops fill engines with oil... And by fill, I mean FILL them with oil.
One or two full quarts up or down shouldn't hurt a thing.

A heavier duty engine with over double the displacement has gotta take a little more than that.
