need help with hub centric spacers for 04 dually

alright so, i've seen people with various year super duties run hub centric spacers, dually or not. some people say you have to unbolt and remove the axle flange or whatever it's called, so the HC spacer will go past that little lip, then reinstall. on a dually this would be a pain, especially if i need to put a spare tire on in the field or whatever. even just every tire rotation.

yet i've seen people say their HC spacers fit right over it. can anyone confirm if there are certain years that do or don't require this? i just got my HC spacers for in between my stock dually wheels running 315/75/16s. i currently have non HC spacers on there because the guy sent the wrong ones. i'm probably going to swap them out this week, but it looks like it's not going to slide over. i kind of thought it would, but again, not sure if certain years have the little lip on the end of the hub and some dont. i know specifically of a member on here with an 05 dually and his slid right over.

this is an excursion, and the thread i got this pic from didn't mention anything about removing the axle to these these past that little lip at the front, so i assume they slid right on.

i won't know 100% on mine until i pull the wheels off, maybe i'll do that tomorrow and i'll just drive my scion, but i wanted to make a thread ahead of time because i know i have read that some did have to do this. the lip on the spacer is exactly the size of that lip on the front of the hub i believe (of course, so the wheel sits snug on it) so it may be a VERY tight squeeze. who knows. hopefully someone here knows and can clarify!

If the wheels are hub centric and the spacer is hub centric the spacer should fit over the axel flange just like the wheel.

I wouldn't be opposed to taking a little emery cloth to the axel flange if the clearance is a skosh tight.

yea i was going to do that before removing it if it's just barely too large to slide the spacer past it.
