Seats and Salvage Question

I have a 2010 F-150 that I plan to drive until it demands to be retired, and I wanted to upgrade the seats to heated (and cooled, if Ford offered it in the 09-14 series) leather. My thought was the most economical way to do so would be to find a totaled F-150 where the interior was in good shape, but I'm having zero luck finding anything that new.

Anyone have any suggestions where I should be looking? Or alternatives for where I might find factory seats without paying an arm and a leg.

You need a well optioned FX or Lariat to get heated and cooled. Came standard on Platinum, King Ranch and Limited.

Craigslist, local eBay auction, and canvassing your local auto recyclers are the most likely sources. Just be prepared to wait a long time for the right set at the right price...

I am assuming your current truck does not have leather. If so, you would be better off going with a Katzkin setup with heating and cooling. But it isn't cheap. A totaled interior wouldn't be cheap either then trying to figure out the OEM wiring, harnesses and switches would make it a more difficult swap.

Seats are def not cheap. If we get a trade in with damaged seats we try to buy on ebay. I got leather rear seats for an Esscalade and on ebay they ran $900 bucks (including shipping). I would also suggest finding local reskin companies. Your local dealer should be able to point you in the right direction. We sometimes have folks request adding heated seats and stuff and it's something we always farm out.

This site has lots of late model seats...they're not cheap but they probably cost less than selling your truck to get another one with the options you want.

I just checked that site out. Not cheap by any means and the seats you wanted look like they sell quickly. I would think it would be much more cost effective to go aftermarket. Plus, I have read so many complaints about factory cooling seats.
