A question I've always had is whether all the different MII designs are truly the same in all critical respects; A-arm mount spacing, angles, etc. and whether the ball joints are some common pieces that are widely available? I wouldn't assume they are all "identical" with respect to wear items.

Fair question Ross. From my limited experience the a-arms follow the same geometry as the OEM, thus the name Mustang II. The original OEM IFS had single pivot lower control arms with a hokey support strut. The aftermarket design eliminates the strut and provides a stronger triangular shaped lower a-arm that mirrors the upper arm. Consumable items are always a crapshoot, bearings, brake pads, ball joints, bushings, etc...given the durability of these parts most of us won't live long enough to worry about replacement parts, but for the most part the people who build MII IFS's aren't going to redesign the wheel, they are using off-the-shelf parts.

Thanks Charlie, it would suck to be tied to a particular vendor for repair parts. Particularly considering how many are fab'd in China... they aren't known for service after the sale.
